1/12/21 - STRENGTHENED IN HIS SILENCE....

What do you do when God is silent? There is a right and wrong way to respond. One will encourage and refresh the other will weaken and discourage. I’ve discovered that we can learn from silence a lot more than we can in incessant chattering. God’s silence is an opportunity for us to draw nearer to Him. Ever thought of that? Or do you begin questioning your relationship with Jesus? I believe the latter is what most of us do. I used to be one of them. Until I discovered this verse of scripture.

“This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to Me and resting in Me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I wish the last line wasn’t there, but it’s there for a reason. It’s saying, if you read the rest of the preceding verses, that we are given a choice of resting quietly and confidently in Him, but won’t take it. My daughter doesn’t need to constantly be talking to me for me to know she’s home. Just knowing she’s near is enough at times. This promise from Jesus also helps me in the silence.

“I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:18‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“and lo, I Am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:20‬b NKJV‬‬

God’s “supposed” silence, I used the word supposed because it’s not His absence. He’s always near, always with us. It’s an opportunity to draw near. To seek Him with all our hearts. To go deeper. In those silent moments, pour out your love on Him. Tell Him how much you appreciate all He’s doing and has done for you. Use His silence as an opportunity to lavish Him with praise and adoration. You’ll sense a nearness you’ve never experienced before. Don’t let the enemy play mind games with you. Silence is romance. You can’t see or hear me but I have the biggest grin on my face, and I’m giggling like a child. I don’t have to fear His silence. I just need to snuggle up, get closer to Him. Feel His breath on my face, while I do the talking. I hope your heart is warming, mine sure is. Lol

If this message has found you wondering what you have done or not done-Why aren’t you hearing His voice? Even if you have done something wrong, don’t run away, run toward His silence, repent, confess to Him, receive forgiveness and then pour out your love. I hear a song coming on. Tasha Cobbs. “The atmosphere is changing now, for the Spirit of the Lord is here.” 🎼 Oh yeah! Open your arms and receive His warm embrace. He’s still silent, you hear no words, but His presence is more than words can describe. Are you with me? Or, “You won’t have none of it?” Too simplistic for you? You haven’t discovered His silence yet.

I don’t know about you, but I have learned more in silence than at any other time. It’s like being invisible or anonymous. You’re there but no one else knows you are. Yet the wealth of information you’ve gleaned in the silence will one day astound the chatterboxes. “Where have you been?” they’ll ask? Your response will be, “in the silence of His presence.” Ahh! We set our love on Him, in the silence, we discover hidden gems in the Word in silence, our minds are clearer in the silence, because He speaks more clearly in the silence. For you see, His silence is not about Him, it’s for us who are wise enough to not view it as a negative but as a positive. He said of the silence.

“If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

That’s what we do when He’s silent. We go after Him with no distraction no hesitation, with our whole hearts. Does that sound like you? Do you search for Him wholeheartedly in the silence? Begin today. He’s nearer than your next breath. Silence is golden, if handheld correctly. Don’t waste time analyzing or worrying about it. Take advantage of those moments to grow in your appreciation for Him. He listens for you in the silence. What will you bring to Him? Allow this beautiful song to jumpstart your worship in the silence.

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
