1/4/22-I WILL GIVE YOU EYES OF FAITH

The new year is here! But the old mindsets and problems are still looming over many. Sad to say even in the body of Christ. If we allow our eyes to see only what’s in front of us, instead of what lies ahead we will be overcome and overwhelmed. But we are not a people without hope. We are children of the King. His promises are sure because He’s forever the faithful One. Let’s take a look at what faith eyes produce in those of us who refuse to be moved by what we see.

“Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen. This testimony of faith is what previous generations were commended for. Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:1-3‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The eyes of faith bring our hopes into reality. We have it before we have it. Sounds crazy. But it’s our normal. Listen to what Jesus said to prove my point.

“In the morning, they passed by the fig tree that Jesus spoke to and it was completely withered from the roots up. Peter remembered and said to him, “Teacher, look! That’s the fig tree you cursed. It’s now all shriveled up and dead.” Jesus replied, “Let the faith of God be in you! Listen to the truth I speak to you: Whoever says to this mountain with great faith and does not doubt, ‘Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea,’ and believes that what he says will happen, it will be done. This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:20-24‬ ‭TPT‬‬

He doesn’t say “when you possess it believe”, but rather “possess it when you pray.” That’s faith eyes. If we’re at all like our Father then we also speak those things that are not seen as though they already exist. What we see is temporal, what we believe is eternal. Remember our other lessons about faithful Abraham? He saw what was not yet promised as though it were. As far as he was concerned if God promised it, it was already his. We need to see ourselves possessing the promises. But we must also break the habits that we learned through unbelief. Refusing to doubt no matter how loudly our circumstances may be screaming and waving for us to take our eyes off Jesus. Have you ever been looking for someone in a crowd and then see them waving wildly to get our attention? That’s what the enemy does. But if we refuse to look for him in our mess, and see Jesus instead our eyes of faith will bring His Word into focus.

You may have had to carry over debt into the new year, but it doesn’t have to remain. Continue using the strategy the Spirit of Truth has given you. You may have brought the sadness of a loss of a family member, relationship, or employment into the new year, but it doesn’t have to remain. Receive His comfort and peace. Receive His strength and joy. Everything looks different through the eyes of faith.

My pastor used to say that everything in the natural is subject to change. How? By realizing that Christ in you is the hope of glory! That greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world! That you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! That you overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the words of your testimony. That you know that the Lord is your banner and shield! That He is with you always even to the end of the age. Want me to continue or you can take it from here? The eyes of faith bring everything into focus.

We are not our circumstances. We are not the bad choices we’ve made. We are the righteousness of God the Father in Christ our Savior. When we’re fully convinced in Who we believe, we see everything through His eyes. We praise Jesus for fresh starts and new beginnings. We pray for wisdom and grace to not repeat the mistakes of the past. We purpose in our hearts to live by the faith of the Son of God who gave everything to rescue us. We live the crucified life. Dead people can’t sin. We live by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. We don’t move, purchase, or align ourselves with anything or anyone who the Spirit of Truth has not instructed us to. We pray for discipline, integrity and character to be steadfast in what pleases our Father.

Faith filled eyes see and receive all its truths from the Word of God. Jesus says our love is proven by keeping His Truths (word). Learn to trust His promptings, be sensitive to His emotions. He will let you sense His displeasure whenever you’re straying from His will for you. Don’t allow your present location to make you complacent. Strive for His best. Embrace His promises and claim them by faith. Learn to dream again. Let your childlike faith propel you into your destiny. Taste His goodness and see with eyes of faith those things that are not as though they were. Remember it’s only those who believe like faithful Abraham who’ll receive the promises.

A soaring faith will bring you into My ways. A sagging faith will bring you down into the ways of men. Never let your faith be set on the words of men, but on the living words of God. From I hear His Whisper.
