If you’re able to get up off the floor after listening to that beautiful worship by Jonathan, if the tears have stopped flowing then let’s read together the verses above. Worship is the theme of heaven. The brilliance of God’s glory fills it with light, the same light that now fills us His children. The glory transference of Jesus to us, a sweet infilling of His Spirit that stirs us and brings us to the high calling of bowing down. The song and scripture bring everything into perspective. The reason for our existence is worship, we were made for His pleasure. Have you discovered your higher calling?
“Each of the four living creatures had six wings, full of eyes all around and under their wings. They worshiped without ceasing, day and night, singing, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty! The Was, the Is, and the Coming!” And whenever the living creatures gave glory, honor, and thanks to the One who is enthroned and who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fell facedown before the One seated on the throne and they worshiped the One who lives forever and ever. And they surrendered their crowns before the throne, singing: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory, honor, and power, for you created all things, and by your plan they were created and exist.”
Revelation 4:8-11 TPT
Throughout scriptures we hear the Creator of all life imploring us to have and worship no other God. Why? Because they can offer us nothing. gods fashioned by man are without ability to save and deliver. But our God, the Living God, not only has all power He has all love, all forgiveness, all grace and all mercy. His desire is to give us all things that bring life. There’s no way to experience His limitless love and not return with gratitude and thanksgiving. The holiness of God in Christ draws us into deeper fellowship and worship.
No one on earth deserves our worship. The more you get to know Him, the deeper the intimacy, the lower you’ll go. You are not commanded to bow, but it is an automatic response whenever you’re alone with Him. Bowing down is the attitude of a souled out heart. The feet that took the nails for us draws us to a place of worship. Demons bowed whenever Jesus showed up. They, fallen angels, always assume the posture of bowing in the presence of holiness. How much more should we, His righteous blood washed children?
Sheer gratitude for all He’s done brings us to that high place. It’s not a prerequisite for our deliverance or blessing, but it’s acknowledgement of who He is. That’s why we shouldn’t be bowing down before people. That honor is reserved for the King of kings and Lord of lords. No human leader bears the title Holy. No one is Holy except the God of heaven. It’s blasphemous to give that honor to fallen man. Only God is Holy.
If you desire to go deeper in your walk with God, learn the act of bowing down. In the New Testament writings we see that everyone who came to Jesus with a need fell at His feet. Those who have learned the higher calling of bowing always walked away receiving. Humility exalts. Humility is a tree of life, it produces strength. Recognizing the holiness of God brings us into His favor. We want nothing more than to be in His presence. We desire Him. People who have found the high place, lack nothing, wholeness is found at that higher place. As I said earlier, it’s a place of gratitude.
The high place is a place of fear and reverence for God. We don’t come demanding, we come humbled. Humbled that the Creator of all life willingly gave Himself for us and desires to fellowship with us. A Holy God longs for and wants us to be with Him. That blows my mind each time I meditate on it. Why does He love me? Why does He care so much about what happens to me? The answers makes no sense, I don’t deserve His love and mercy, yet, He lavishes me daily with His love. Psalm 139:6 says such knowledge is too high, too wonderful for me. Let’s read.
“You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. Lord, You know everything there is to know about me. You perceive every movement of my heart and soul, and You understand my every thought before it even enters my mind.
You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness You follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. With Your hand of love upon my life, You impart a blessing to me. This is just too wonderful, deep, and incomprehensible! Your understanding of me brings me wonder and strength.”
Psalms 139:1-6 TPT
Is it any wonder that we run to the high place? Is it any wonder that we yearn and hunger for more and more of His presence. Is it any wonder that our total being cries holy, holy, holy? Is it any wonder bowing down at His feet brings us more joy than looking for His hands? IT IS TOO WONDERFUL FOR ME!! If the angels and elders are bowing down, how much more should we? The lower we go the higher He takes us. Hallelujah! Everyone who’s found the highest place receives from Him.

These, and countless others including me, received from Jesus at the high place. We’re never denied when we’ve learned how to bow. How to reverence. How to fear the living God. So have you discovered the high place in your walk with the Savior? There’s no higher calling, there’s no greater honor, than to bow and kneel before His throne. We leave forgiven, healed, delivered and loved. One of these days the scripture says; every knee WILL bow and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord! Romans 14:11. Start the process now, don’t delay. There’s mercy and forgiveness at the high place of bowing down.
Jesus, it is true, there is no higher calling or greater honor than to bow at Your feet. What a glorious privilege we have to be welcomed to Abba’s throne room. You made the way for us to discover that in His presence there is fullness of joy, with You at His right hand, unending pleasure. We’re overwhelmed with gratitude, words cannot describe the beauty that is Your holiness. We bow and sing Holy, holy, holy is our God. We fear and revere You. You alone are worthy to be praised. Amen
Come and enter into a bliss that only My lovers experience...My glory reminds you that it’s not your holiness, but My grace that brings you in...Morning whispers. B. Simmons
