11/27/20 - BEAUTIFUL FEET

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭52:7‬ ‭NLT

Look down, take a look at your feet. What do you see? Do you like your feet? Do you consider them beautiful? Whether they’re nicely pedicured by the skilled hands of a professional, or appearing worn and tired, if you’re bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world, your Maker calls them beautiful feet. Whatever age you may be reading these words, your feet have a lot of miles on them. But are those miles highway miles, frequent flyer miles or local miles?

How were those miles earned? Did you bring good news when you arrived at your destination? Think about the places you’ve been lately, did you bring or share the Good News about Jesus with anyone? Have you considered sharing these messages or have you kept them to yourself? People often say of sharing their faith, “I don’t know what to say or how to do it.” It’s simple really, begin with a smile and a hello. People are hungry for conversation, especially today. In Acts chapter 14, the apostle Paul saw that a man had faith for healing and ministered to him. We too can ask the Holy Spirit to let us see the need in people and be the conduit God uses to be a blessing. Just saying “how are you today?” can be an opening. If you’re at a loss for words, open up your heart. The Holy Spirit will help you.

We can never assume, not even in our places of worship, that everyone knows and understands what’s being taught. Instead of using those beautiful feet to be a busybody, use them to mentor or disciple someone who needs to learn about Jesus. Look around your neighborhood, people are dying for interaction. Walk across the street, use those beautiful feet. If you have their number call to find out what they need. Showing that you care, or that you’re thinking of them, it may be the open door you’ve been waiting for to share the love of Jesus. Listen to these couple of scriptures and see where you fit.

“For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:13-15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Indeed, we hear that some among you are disorderly [that they are passing their lives in idleness, neglectful of duty], being busy with other people's affairs instead of their own and doing no work.”

‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:11‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

As children of God we are called to a beautiful feet ministry. We’re equipped by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to bring good news, we are His sent out ones. We have to avoid everything and anyone who takes us off course. We’re on assignment and have a limited time frame to complete it. That’s why the Bible speaks of “Today” (Hebrews 3). Ephesians 6:15 speaks of our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. The shoes of peace are a part of our spiritual armor. We must always be ready to walk the gospel out to others. The Lord asked in the following verse this question:

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is asking for beautiful feet to answer His call. Will we go for Them? If our feet aren’t fitted with the shoes of peace, we can’t bring the message to others. Jesus did a lot of walking in His years on earth, the roads were long and arduous, but His feet were undeniably beautiful. The Bible says He went about doing good, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38. Everywhere He walked, miracles happened. Those beautiful feet, took nails for us. Are we willing to follow in His footsteps?

We too have been given beautiful feet. Feet with ordered steps (Psalm 37). Feet that are equipped to take territory for the Kingdom. (Joshua 1:3) Directed steps (Proverbs 3). Established steps (Proverbs 16:9). Led steps (Psalm 23) Unmovable steps (Psalm 121). Guarded steps (1 Samuel 2:9). If we saw our feet in light of scripture then every place we go would be a place of opportunity to share the good news. Everywhere we show up would be filled with peace, His peace. The next time you’re tempted to be a busybody, or you hold back when you should be sharing your faith, look down at your feet, which shoes are you wearing? Use your steps for something good. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover. Let’s keep those beautiful feet walking for Jesus.

Father in the Name of Jesus,

Thank you for reminding us to use our feet for good. We are blessed to be given such a wonderful privilege, honoring you wherever we go. You have promised to order our steps so thank You for more opportunities to share Your truth with those who You have put in our path. In Jesus Name. Amen

Where are your beautiful feet taking you today?
