“No matter what, make room in your heart to love every believer. And show hospitality to strangers, for they may be angels from God showing up as your guests.”Hebrews 13:1-2 TPT
“so they had the apostles arrested, placed in chains, and thrown into jail. But during the night, the Lord sent an angel who appeared before them. He supernaturally opened their prison doors and brought the apostles outside. “Go,” the angel told them. “Stand in the temple courts and preach the words that bring life!” So early that morning they entered the temple courts and taught the people. The high priest and his officials, unaware of their supernatural release from prison, convened the members of the supreme council. They sent for the apostles to be brought to them from prison. But when the officers came to the prison cell, it was empty! They returned to the council and informed them, “We found the jail securely locked and the guards standing by their cell, but when we opened the door, there was no one inside!””Acts 5:18-23 TPT
“The night before Herod planned to bring him to trial, he made sure that Peter was securely bound with two chains. Peter was sound asleep between two soldiers, with additional guards stationed outside his cell door, when all at once an angel of the Lord appeared, filling his prison cell with a brilliant light. The angel struck Peter on the side to awaken him and said, “Hurry up! Let’s go!” Instantly the chains fell off his wrists. The angel told him, “Get dressed. Put on your sandals, bring your cloak, and follow me.” Peter quickly left the cell and followed the angel, even though he thought it was only a dream or a vision, for it seemed unreal—he couldn’t believe it was really happening! They walked unseen past the first guard post and then the second before coming to the iron gate that leads to the city—and the gate swung open all by itself right in front of them! They went out into the city and were walking down a narrow street when all of a sudden the angel disappeared. That’s when Peter realized that he wasn’t having a dream! He said to himself, “This is really happening! The Lord sent His angel to rescue me from the clutches of Herod and from what the Jewish leaders planned to do to me.”Acts 12:6-11 TPT
Have you ever entertained an angel?, been visited by one or supernaturally delivered or assisted by one? Do you believe in angels? Whether you do or not, does not change the fact that they exist and that we as the children of God have been assigned angels to deliver and even minister to us. All throughout scriptures we find angel’s doing God’s will. Psalm 91 gives us a clear understanding of what they do for us.
The scriptures I shared are proof of their existence and how they help us. They minister to those who are to be heirs of salvation. Whenever we’re interceding on behalf of a loved one, they are the unseen agents coaxing our loved ones into making a decision for accepting Jesus.
“What role then, do the angels have? The angels are spirit-messengers sent by God to serve those who are going to be saved.”
Hebrews 1:14 TPT
We interact with angels more than we realize. I have both seen and experienced their help. One time when I had moved into a home where someone had died, I saw the person in the room where I was sleeping. I immediately quoted Psalm 91 and commanded my angel to do what the scripture says. Suddenly an angel appeared and stood by the door with his arms crossed. Another time I was in prayer, suddenly I saw the hand extended from a golden robe with a piece of paper and he said write! I was so shaken I said Lord if this is you I shouldn’t be afraid. I felt a peace come over me and he repeated, write! Then he proceeded to give me a message for the church I was attending. Then he left. My daughter also experienced the help of an angel who shielded her eyes from being burned during a cooking accident. She kept saying the angel covered my eyes, mommy. It was proven by the way the oil burned her face, the doctors kept asking her if she could see? By the location of the burns she should’ve been blinded.
“For the angel of the Lord is a guard; He surrounds and defends all who fear him.”Psalms 34:7 NLT
We have angels all around us at our beck and call. We just don’t know it, or have never given it any thought. But according to scripture they’re available to us. We have them standing around waiting to be acknowledged. I’ve had other encounters with them helping me but this message isn’t about me but them. The most under appreciated, most unutilized help provided by God the Father for His children. God sends them in response to our prayers.
It was the intercession of the church that brought the angel to Peter’s prison cell. It was Cornelius’s prayer that brought the angel to his home with instructions to send for Peter. We often talk about the archangels Gabriel and Michael, they are what we call special forces. But according to Jesus we have tens of thousands waiting to be deployed. We’re not waiting on them, they’re waiting on us. No, we don’t pray to angels, we command them, not in the sense of bossing them around, but if God has given them charge over us, we need to begin to commission them. Who in your family needs salvation? Who needs protection? Who needs deliverance? Send them out in the Name of Jesus!
I praise Jesus for surrounding me with His angels when I’m traveling locally or abroad. I thank Him for their protection around and in my home. I praise Him for giving them charge around my children. They’re there for us. One stood between me and a messed up back when I was rammed so hard from behind while stopped to make a turn, it literally moved my car feet away from the entrance. Yet all I felt was a tap as though I was in a rubber car. The body shop kept asking me why my bumper wasn’t split in half when the entire metal frame of the car was bent. My Angel took the hit, stood between me and the impact. They’re all around us. We just don’t see them all the time because we don’t expect them. Be discerning even of strangers. They don’t always appear in bright robes, and they’re not always 10 feet tall.
Yes we have angels in the outfield. Going to bat for us everyday. If they were present for Jesus, Peter, Paul, Cornelius, Zechariah, Mary, the shepherds, Lot, and countless others. Then they’re here right now for us. John encountered an angel in the book of Revelation, when he went to bow to him the angel stopped him, letting him know that he was a servant of God like John was. We don’t worship angels, they're servant messengers for us. The Angel of the Lord who is Jesus, never refused worship. When Abraham bowed, when Gideon bowed, when Joshua bowed, they were never stopped from doing so because the Lord is worthy of worship. That’s how He presented Himself in the Old Testament. People who have had visitations by our Lord today, never describe Him as an Angel but an actual person. He didn’t return to heaven as an Angel. John says at His coming we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2.
“If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.”
Psalms 91:9-12 NLT
So do you believe in angels? They’ve done more for you than you are aware of, and they’re waiting to do even more.
