2/9/21 - DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE A CREATOR?

No I didn’t say you are THE Creator, but that as one made in His image you are designed to create. What you do with the abilities He’s given to you, will depend on how you were raised, the things you were exposed to as a child, words you heard about yourself in your formidable years and most of all what you were taught about your Creator. The sum total of all those experiences will either stifle or promote your creativity.

Yes, my friends, we were created to create. To imitate our Father God. The greatest of all creative experiences begins in the mind. Before we can hold a pencil we create images in our minds. Some good, some not so good. But the plan of God for us, was that we would become an extension of the One whose image we bear. Right imagination builds and releases faith in us to do things we cannot do in our own strength. But our Enabler, the Holy Spirit, helps us do all things through Christ. Let’s read these verses.

“Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is His love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!

Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power constantly energizes you.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:18-20‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Now let’s read those same verse in the amplified translation.

“[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]–” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

We can’t lose with the stuff we use! Glory to God. The stuff is the Word of God. The Bible says in Mark 11:23-24 that With the renewed mind, nothing shall be impossible to us. Let's use your Spirit filled imagination as you read these verses to create and bring to life the things hoped for because that’s what faith is and does. (Hebrews 11:6). I’m getting excited here! See yourself healthy physically, emotionally and relationally, see yourself prosperous financially, see yourself accomplishing the dreams God has placed in your heart- Dreams that have been dormant in you, because of fear or discouragement. Dust off the cobwebs that have stifled your imagination and creativity. I hear the words of a song that was popular a while back. “ I believe I can fly!

I believe I can fly

I believe I can touch the sky

I think about it every night and day

Spread my wings and fly away

I believe I can soar

I see me running through that open door

I believe I can fly

What’s going on in this individual? Imagination, creativity, vision, belief and faith to move from doubt and hopelessness to soaring. If you read the rest of the verses he said he’s leaning on the everlasting arms ( I’m assuming he means the Lord) but I believe the ability to create is innate in all of us. From the moment God breathed His breath into us, the ability to be great and do great things was birthed in us. I didn’t forget about Mark 11! Losing our childlikeness stifles imagination and creativity. Give a child an empty cardboard box, and watch what happens. That box becomes a car, a fort, a house, a mountain you name it! You see a box; he sees possibilities. We are born to create. Children are taught failure. Adults teach children not to dream. They weren’t created that way.

In Genesis 2, God brought all the animals to Adam to see what he would name them. Why? He wanted him to use his imagination to create names for each of them. Just think hippopotamus, what do you see? Large hips lol the trouble is we through the sin nature, have used what was once good and pure for evil. We’re dreamers, we can conjure up evil or good, and travel millions of miles through our imagination. Building businesses beginning with a thought, that becomes an action. Why do we need architects? To put on paper what we see in our minds. We’re creating all the time. Some of us recognize it while others don’t. All we need is encouragement and we can fly through the open doors. Now to Mark 11:

“Jesus replied, “Let the faith of God be in you! Listen to the truth I speak to you: If someone says to this mountain with great faith and having no doubt, ‘Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea,’ and believes that what he says will happen, it will be done. This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer— be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours.” Mark‬ ‭11:22-24‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Your sanctified imagination brought about by your renewed mind, mixed with your faith in God, creates the atmosphere or world you want to live in. You needn’t be hampered or anxious about anything. You speak or create the changes that you’d like to see happen in your world. I like the King James translation for verse 23:

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Leading off with amen (verily) not only implies that what follows is true but also that the person making the statement has firsthand knowledge and authority about it. Saying, “Verily, verily,” before making a statement is a strong claim to truth, presented from an almost audacious attitude. Jesus was saying pay close attention to what I’m going to say. If you believe My Words, nothing shall be impossible to you.

Have you had any great ideas lately? What have you been dreaming about? What have you been creating in your minds? Remember now, you have the ability to create great things or bad things. It all depends on who’s in control of your thoughts. Don’t allow the imposter, Satan, to derail your God given creativity.

If I can see it (woo), then I can do it (I can do it) If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

R. Kelly was on to something with those words. That’s exactly what Jesus was alluding to in Mark 11:23. If you see that mountain moving out of your way by faith, not doubting in your heart, it will move. He used the metaphor of the mountain to show us that no matter how big or insurmountable your problem may seem, believing faith, will move whatever your mountain is. Think about that situation that has you wounded up so tightly you are suffocating. Now get the mind of Christ on the situation, create the image and outcome you’d like to have, believe that Jesus is able to do what you read in Ephesians 3, then act upon it.

The key to your victory is not looking back at your circumstances but holding to the newly created image of where you need to be. In Mark 11 Jesus saw a fig tree that gave the appearance of having fruit but was barren, He cursed the tree for pretending to be something it wasn’t. Curse your problem for pretending to be your lot in life. Now glorify Jesus Christ for the new and living way opened up to you by changing the way you think and speak. You have been given all the tools you need to be successful. But you need to activate your faith. Over thirty plus years ago my brother and I were driving on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. He said these words to me. “Sis, I’d love to open a restaurant right there” and he pointed to the spot. He’s been an automotive mechanic and now an IT specialist. The dream or imagination may have been dormant all those years, but the God who placed it in his heart didn’t forget it. It’s 2021 and the dream has been awakened at age 62. What am I saying? Dreams and creativity do not die, people do. They say the cemetery is full of potential. Don’t let that be you.

We were born to create. Our Father has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in Christ in whom everything that was made is made. Ephesians 1:3; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16. It has been our good fortune to have been born into His family. How do you see yourself? Do you view yourself through the vernacular of others' opinion of you, or through the eyes of your Creator? It makes all the difference in the world and in you. You have been given something no one else on earth has.: An imagination with endless possibilities, only choose to use it for good. You are backed up and supported by the One in whose Image you were created. YOU WERE BORN TO CREATE! Awaken your imagination, dust off forgotten dreams, age is just a number. Today is your day. Just ask my brother. His imagination and faith is now sight. We’re eating it as we speak. Looks good, doesn’t it? It tastes even better! Glory to God! Turn your imagination into faith! Faith is active! It’s alive!

Dreams don’t die! People do. The best part of waking up, is not Folgers in your cup, but it’s realizing that today could be the day that what you have been creating, imagining, and believing for is now here.

See I was on the verge of breaking down

Sometimes silence can seem so loud

There are miracles in life I must achieve

But first I know it starts inside of me.

I Believe I Can Fly. R. Kelly

For we walk by faith and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
