3/19/21 - LIFE’S SIMPLE PLEASURE...THE JOY OF BELIEVING

“May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Are you a believer? No, I’m not asking if you’re a Christian. Are you a believer? If you’re having trouble responding, then you’re not. Next question. If you are a believer, what are you believing for? This isn’t a trick question. We’re all believers in something or someone. And we’re all believing for something. What distinguishes us is, on what or Whom is your believing established. Here’s a definition of believing that I’ve never thought of before, but it has totally changed my perspective on the word.

Believing gives you power to enjoy what’s around you. Being cheerful in believing is a duty you owe to God. J. Duplantis

That revelation blew my mind. When your foundation or belief system is based securely on the Word of God, you begin to find joy in living and that joy resounds in thanksgiving to God. You complain less, and appreciate His goodness around you more. Can I get an Amen! Go back and read what I’ve underlined. May the God of your hope, not the God of doubt, so fill you with ALL, there’s that powerful no limits word again, what does all mean? In every area of your life, let’s read that again. May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in BELIEVING. Believing what? That every promise of God has been fulfilled in Christ Jesus. And your thanksgiving will resound in praise to God for ALL He has done for us. Read the verses leading up to the focus verse it will bless you. We’re better brothers, sisters, employees, friends, spouses and believers. When we’re filled with believing hope through experiential faith, by the power of the Holy Spirit, encouraging you to abound and overflow with hope, we will bubble up with unending blessings. That’s a mouthful.

Believing is not just adherence to certain truths, but its believing with the heart unto righteousness, or right standing with God. The righteousness that produces boldness to stand in the presence of a holy God without guilt, inferiority or condemnation. Do you believe that you are righteous? What does the scripture say about that? I thought you’d never ask.

“Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).

For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17, 19, 21‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

We cannot read these words with the natural mindset. We must read with the rhema of the Spirit. Allowing the Holy Spirit to bring revelation knowledge of what you’re reading. You must believe and see yourselves as God in Christ sees you. This believing hope is not a wish. Wishing makes you apprehensive and uncertain about the outcome. Bible hope doesn’t make us ashamed and never leaves us disappointed. It all boils down to who or what you’re believing in. Where is that in scripture? I thought you’d never ask.

“THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God. Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:1-5‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

They say whenever you see a therefore, find out what it’s there for. SINCE we are justified. Hallelujah! Go read it again! Because we have been made righteous, our believing hope, established in Christ, removes the possibility of ever being disappointed or ashamed. Glory to God! Hallelujah! My spirit man is shouting! Glory!! Some of you believe more in that Covid vaccine, than you do in the power of Almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ, to protect you. They could be shooting sugar water in your body, but you have more faith in man than God. Then you wonder why your spiritual life is as stagnant as it is! Jesse Duplantis calls those folks ecclesiastic mechanics. They know the scriptures, can quote it with flawless accuracy, but are spiritually dead. The Word they espouse has no life in it. Consequently, they’re at the same place they were in every area of their lives since salvation. Why? They lack hope, joy and peace in believing. Here’s another hope verse for you.

“[Now] we have this [hope] as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whoever steps out upon it–a hope] that reaches farther and enters into [the very certainty of the Presence] within the veil, [Lev. 16:2.]”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:19‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

I saw someone the other day who goes to my church. So I enquired whether they had been back. The answer won’t shock some of you🤦‍♀️ “ I’m waiting till I get my sugar water I meant Covid shot” yet they’re back at work, in the supermarket and any place else they need to be. They have more faith in the CDC than JC. Listen, I’m not trying to make you feel bad if you believe you need the vaccine, this is a individual decision. As long as your confidence and faith is in the right place. But don’t tell me you feel safer every place else, but you can’t go to church! Listen to yourself! In whom do you believe! In whom are you persuaded? Some churches have undertaken stricter measures than the supermarket and restaurants we so casually go into, to keep us safe. Moving right along.

We as believers must stake all faith, all truth, all hope on Gods power.

Believing is directed, pardoned and sustained by the One who has invited us to believe. Believing produces a life lived by divine carelessness. I wrote a message titled Responsibly Carefree Living. You should read it. Care-les-ness, free falling on His ability to keep what you have committed to Him. Where does it say that in the Bible? I thought you’d never ask.

“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. [Ps. 55:22.]”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Care or worry is a form of pride. You’re actually saying to God, You’re not capable of taking care of me, so I’ll have to take matters into my own hands. It’s unbelief if you’ll be honest with yourself. Living by believing in Jesus, will free you to enjoy the journey to the manifestation of what you’re believing for. Biblical believing has nothing to do with logic. If you can handle it, you don’t need Him. This is why most people won’t believe for more than they need, this way they have a backup plan to their believing. God wants us believing for the exceedingly abundantly above blessings. In this way we can bless ourselves and others. When your believing is sustained by God, you cease striving and enter into His rest.

Let’s close with the opening verse. And this time I’d like you to meditate on every word. Ask the Holy Spirit to help clear your minds of doubt and unbelief. Repent if need be, for allowing the cares of this world to get you off course. He is able to do exceedingly more than you could ever ask or think. He is our only Hope, His joy is our only strength, believing in Him ties everything together. Believing weighs the consequences before any experience occurs. Ask yourself this question. Am I willing to risk everything on Him? If your answer is yes! He will take you on a journey of faith, filled with joy and peace. He is of course the God of your hope.

“May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ 🙏

There’s joy to be discovered in life’s simple pleasure...just believe.
