3/9/21 - LORD OPEN OUR EYES..LOOK AGAIN!

Have you looked through your spiritual eyes lately? There’s so much going on around us, that it’s easy to miss out on the wonderful things that the Lord is doing in and for us. No wonder the apostle Paul instructed us not to look to the left or right, but to look away or unto Jesus. The enemy is the master of distraction, but we must endeavor to faithfully fix our eyes on Jesus Christ alone.

In 2 Kings 6, Elisha, surrounded by the Armenian army, prayed that the eyes of his panicked servant would be opened to see the Lord’s army. Let’s read:

“When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha. “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.”

‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭6:15-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Most of us are like Elisha’s servant, we can never see pass the natural. But when we became born again, God gave us the ability through His Holy Spirit to see things differently. We now have spiritual vision. We just choose not to exercise that muscle. You do know you have to exercise the muscles in your eyes? If you don’t you’ll develop lazy eyes. Our spiritual eyes have become lazy. The reason why we complain more than praise, can be attributed to lazy spiritual eyes. There are 6 muscles in the human eyes, one short of being perfect. I believe God reserved the 7th muscle for Himself, we gain it when we become born again. It’s called discernment. But it will never be activated by osmosis. It is developed through daily spiritual exercises found in the studying of God’s Word.

“But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Like Elisha’s servant, most Christians can only see what’s happening to and around them. But look again! Retrain your spiritual eyes to see all that God in Christ is,has, and is doing for you. Rebellion which has its roots in ingratitude, is like the sin of witchcraft. 1 Samuel 15. It goes against everything God stands for to produce its own results. What the servant saw, took him from fear to faith. Elisha was cool and undisturbed. Why? His spiritual eyes had perfect vision. He had trained his eyes to see only what God saw. Do you need to exercise the muscles in your eyes? If the natural eyes needs exercising, how much more the spiritual? It’s high time we begin seeing as God sees. Lazy eyes lack clear vision, it makes things appear distorted. That’s why most Christians aren’t prospering in every area of their lives. They’re living in open rebellion against the truth of God’s Word. Lord, open their eyes!

There are still millions of Christians viewing their pastors on electronic devices, they’re not compromised in any way, they’re like Elisha’s servant, full of fear. They have lazy eyes. Looking at the circumstances instead of looking to Jesus. Their spiritual eye muscles haven’t been exercised in years. How are your eyes? What’s freaking you out? What has you forgetting His Word. What or who has distracted you? I’ll close with a wonderful Psalm that has a exercise for every spiritual muscle in your body. I ask the Lord to open your spiritual eyes once more, so you’ll see all He has promised. You play a significant role in your ability to receive, if you choose to rebel you’ll remain spiritually blinded, if you choose to look up again, you’ll not only see but experience all He has for you. LOOK AGAIN! LORD OPEN THEIR EYES!🙏

“Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land. Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone. The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity. The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. But the Lord just laughs, for He sees their day of judgment coming. The wicked draw their swords and string their bows to kill the poor and the oppressed, to slaughter those who do right. But their swords will stab their own hearts, and their bows will be broken. It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich. For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the Lord takes care of the godly. Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever. They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough. But the wicked will die. The Lord’s enemies are like flowers in a field— they will disappear like smoke. The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers. Those the Lord blesses will possess the land, but those He curses will die. The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread. The godly always give generous loans to others, and their children are a blessing. Turn from evil and do good, and you will live in the land forever. For the Lord loves justice, and He will never abandon the godly. He will keep them safe forever, but the children of the wicked will die. The godly will possess the land and will live there forever. The godly offer good counsel; they teach right from wrong. They have made God’s law their own, so they will never slip from His path. The wicked wait in ambush for the godly, looking for an excuse to kill them. But the Lord will not let the wicked succeed or let the godly be condemned when they are put on trial. Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along His path. He will honor you by giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed. I have seen wicked and ruthless people flourishing like a tree in its native soil. But when I looked again, they were gone! Though I searched for them, I could not find them! Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace. But the rebellious will be destroyed; they have no future. The Lord rescues the godly; He is their fortress in times of trouble. The Lord helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in Him.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:1-40‬ ‭NLT‬‬
