4/28/2021 - DON’T WEAR YOUR BONDAGE LIKE JEWELRY.

Addiction, no matter what form it takes, is bondage. It robs us of our self respect and self control. It pulls us into seclusion and isolation. The enemy knows that he works best when we’re separated from any form of accountability. Be it sexual, drugs, alcoholism, pornography, video games, gambling, toxic relationships, work, fame or fortune, anything that replaces or takes us away from our spiritual walk with Jesus, is an addiction.

Most people don’t even realize they’re addicted to whatever vices they’ve been caught up in, until it’s too late. But God in Christ wants us free from all entanglements so we can live our best lives now. He has so many great plans in store for us. We just need to discover them as we search the scriptures and yield to genuine fellowship with Him. Jeremiah 29:11-12

There are times when we become comfortable in our vices, so much so that instead of searching for ways to free ourselves, we wear the bondage like jewelry to be proud of. We go around sharing all the things we’re caught up in as though it’s a badge of honor. Chains like; alcoholism runs in my family, heart disease runs in my family, drug addiction runs in my family, pornography runs in my family, incest runs in my family, no one in my family ever went to college, every one in my family lives on welfare, lying and stealing runs in my family. Then if it runs, why don’t you try running away from all that into a new life freely offered by Christ Jesus? Well religion doesn’t work for me. Who said anything about religion?

But most people enjoy the attention or crutch that codependency brings. Now, I’m not taking the things I’ve mentioned lightly. Most people have real struggles and a difficult time breaking free, but God in Christ Jesus is the only One with the solution and cure. So are you ready to break the chains that bind you and run to freedom?

“Come to Me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Accept My teachings and learn from Me, because I Am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest for your lives. The burden that I ask you to accept is easy; the load I give you to carry is light.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30‬ ‭NCV‬‬

“The LORD says, “All you who are thirsty, come and drink. Those of you who do not have money, come, buy and eat! Come buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend your money on something that is not real food? Why work for something that doesn’t really satisfy you? Listen closely to Me, and you will eat what is good; your soul will enjoy the rich food that satisfies. Come to Me and listen; listen to Me so you may live. I will make an agreement with you that will last forever. I will give you the blessings I promised to David.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:1-3‬ ‭NCV‬‬

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and My people shall never be ashamed. And ye shall know that I Am in the midst of Israel, and that I Am the LORD your God, and none else: and My people shall never be ashamed.”

‭‭Joel‬ ‭2:25-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The promises of God are sure. He calls us from the bondages of sin and addiction to a place of restoration. We need not wear the chains of bondage like jewelry any longer. He is able to restore the eaten years of our lives and give us beauty for ashes. We don’t have to be ashamed of the past, because His grace and mercy eradicates it all. He makes all things new. I’m not making this up I’m living it. He alone knows how to restore like new. Shake off the chains and shackles of the past. He’ll give you a new robe, sandals and real jewelry. He desires to crown your remaining years with abundance.

Embrace your best life now. Nothing you’re facing is a match for His great love for you. Won’t you be free today? He’s already made the first step towards you through His death on the cross. All you need to do is lift your hands in complete surrender and say yes! To His invitation to total deliverance. The world may hold your past against you, but in Him there’s no looking back. Go ahead, run into Abba’s arms, you’re safe there.

Holy Father, in Jesus Name I surrender my addictions to....completely over to You, and receive Your love, forgiveness and restoration. Thank You Jesus for washing me in Your precious blood. Removing the stain and stench of my past and clothing me in Your robe of righteousness. I’m free indeed, because You have set me free! In your sweet Name I pray. Amen

Welcome home my brother my sister! Welcome Home. 2 Corinthians 5:17; Isaiah 61:1-3; Ecclesiastes 3:11.

Don’t become. Overcome!...🙏
