5-20-21: GOD’S GREATEST REVELATION...🤔

If someone were to ask you that question what would your answer be? What has been God’s greatest revelation? We could probably say the written Word and we’d be close. Because the great reveal is found in these words written in the pages of your Bible.

All right then, the Lord Himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a Son and will call Him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

For a child is born to us, a Son is given to us. The government will rest on His shoulders. And He will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of His ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:6-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Have you figured it out? God’s great revelation was His Son! And He didn’t need a sonogram or a cake to make the announcement. The prophets of old declared God’s intention of bringing peace and reconciliation to fallen man, by putting on human flesh and becoming one of us. Son of God yet Son of man. The preexisting God humbled Himself to be born of a woman. You could say like Max Lucado, God came near. John the apostle wrote it best.

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through Him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.”

‭‭John‬ ‭1:1-5‬ ‭

And again: “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His One and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.”‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Then the apostle Paul got a revelation when he wrote this: “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through Him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through Him and for Him. He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is His body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So He is first in everything. For God in all His fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through Him God reconciled everything to Himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.” Colossians‬ ‭1:15-20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Because of this revelation we’ve all been introduced to this grace that surpasses knowledge. We have received mercy beyond our ability to comprehend. Love that exceeds our finite minds’ ability to express in words, and unspeakable joy. At His reveal angels sang. For they too were witnessing something out of this world and heaven. God, their Creator, had taken on human flesh. The One to whom they bow and cry holy, holy, holy! had humbled Himself, literally stripped Himself of royalty to be born in a stable. But the reveal, humble though it were, received a King’s welcome. The world at large missed what shepherds witnessed. For who would’ve expected that God, would reveal Himself through His Son in this way.

That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize Him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:8-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Fortunately for us, this reveal is perpetual. He reveals Himself every time a soul receives His invitation of a new life. He reveals Himself every time a baby is born, He reveals Himself every time a supernatural miracle is manifested. He reveals Himself every time a need is met in our lives. He reveals Himself every time we receive revelation from His Word. He reveals Himself every time a believer goes home. And yes, He reveals Himself when we walk in absolute surrender to Him. To hear His voice is the ultimate revelation. His whispers are that of a Bridegroom drawing His bride to Himself. Nothing compares, but everything pales in comparison to, the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Mark Batterson in highlighting scriptures says this of the greatest reveal; “He’s the full and final revelation of God. He’s the Son of man and the Son of God. He’s the Creator of all things and the Heir of all things. He is ‘ the Way and the Truth and the Life.’ And at His Name, every knee will bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that He alone is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭4:4-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus Christ is indeed the Father’s greatest revelation . No one compares with or to Him. Without Him we are nothing, but in Him and through Him we can do all things. It’s in Him that we live, move and have our being. He’s the Greater One who lives inside us. He’s our Intercessor and Mediator. We’re made new through Him. Yes! He is the revealed Christ, the Son of the Living God! He’s Christ in us, the Hope of Glory! Hallelujah! And He’s still the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.🙏
