He satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles. Psalm 103:5.
But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” “My food, said Jesus, “is to do the will of Him who sent me and finish His work”. John 4:32,34
At first glance it may appear that I have just pulled random scriptures that have nothing to do with each other contextually. But go back, read each one slowly and meditatively. Read like you’re enjoying your favorite food. Savor it between your tongue and heart. Yes! I said tongue and heart. It’s the trickle down effect that I’m wanting to happen in you. Allow the meditation of the Word to leave your mouth and go down slowly into your heart. If you’re not getting this; it’s time for a heart transplant. His heart for yours. If you are, it’s personal. You’ve found your sweet intimate spot with the Lover of your soul.....For I have found Him, who my soul loves (Song of Solomon 3:4).
The Word of God is meant to be enjoyed. To meditate is to slowly mull over. If you’ve ever observed cows, you’ll notice they’re always chewing (chewing the cud) what they’re actually doing all day is regurgitating the grass previously eaten, chewing some more, swallowing, bringing up...you got the picture? That’s true meditation for the believer. That’s what I wanted you to do today. We rush through the Word like a scanner. The Word cannot change you if all you do is scan or glance over it. Listen to this. “When I discovered Your Words I devoured them, They are my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your Name, O Lord God Almighty.” Jeremiah 15:16
When God speaks, we listen! When He shouts in your spirit, ARISE! SHINE! Don’t pull the covers up over your head. Get up! Go find out what He has to say to you. We’re sleeping in, when He’s calling us out, up to a higher place in Him. That’s why we’re spiritual sluggards. He’s wanting to satisfy our mouths with good things. What good things? His Promises, His benefits. Listen to this. His Words are sweet to the roof of my palate, better than honey to my mouth..Psalm 119:103 Sounds like someone heard the call and “GOT UP”
Jesus, our High Priest, said to the disciples after His encounter with the woman at the well; “My meat, is to do the will of My Father. I have food to eat that you know nothing about”. They were concerned with the natural, physical appetite. He was more interested in our spiritual appetites. I’m trying this morning by the leading of the Holy Spirit, to get you to develop your spiritual palates. Jesus said this to the one who desires to steal our desire for spiritual food, Satan himself. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but on every Word that comes from the mouth of God.” Read the full account in Matthew 4.
When your mouth has been satisfied with His good things, your youth (natural health) will be renewed. Yes, like the eagles. If you’re aging, looking older than your chronological age, maybe you should check your spiritual diet. I personally believe I look better now at almost 63, than I did in my teenage years or even in my thirties lol. I’m aging backwards, Praise Jesus! His Good Things are renewing my youth. My food is to do His will and finish the good work He began in me. His glory has risen upon me! Hallelujah!! I’m doing cartwheels on the inside right now! Jesus, Jesus!!
We’re too concerned about the physical. Feed your spirit some Word, and the Holy Spirit will make sure it shows on the outside. As a young girl(17-18) I was told, well I should say laughed at and told I was ugly when I laughed. I can see it in my mind's eyes like it was yesterday( but the sting has been removed) Jesus removed it with His love. My caregivers laughed, pointed at me as I laughed about something, and said I was ugly and looked like I was crying when I laughed. Folks from that day until my deliverance in the latter years of my life . I wore that lie.
I was embarrassed by a vicious lie, to laugh in public. But My Abba, my Daddy God, my Jesus, lover of my soul, sang over me. Told me, yes! He spoke these Words to me on December 22,1990. “I AM YOUR JOY” Hallelujah to my King.
So yes my friends. I have a reason for doing and living the life I do. I’m sure some of you have a testimony of being satisfied with His good things. Not thing- THINGS plural. His feast is out of this world!! But it’s found in His exhaustive:complete and including everything Word. but I didn’t
need the Cambridge Dictionary to tell me that, I’m living it!! My mouth is satisfied every time I open His Word. I’ve found purpose in life. The Glory of the Lord is risen upon ME!! And you too, if you’ll let Him satisfy your mouth.
Each day when I prepare my neighbor’s meals, after each I’ll ask, “are you full?” She always responds “I’m satisfied “ she gets it in the natural, how much more should we, children of the King (if you’re indeed born again according to Jesus in John 3) be fully satisfied in Him. Read, and read again the verses at the beginning of this “Morning Message “ mull over, meditate on His Good Things! Till your soul is satisfied.
Jesus! I’ve never known a LOVE like YOURS. You’re my continuous feasts. Where would I be without You? Everything I need you are. Hallelujah. My soul cries out for more, more of You. Satisfy my spiritual hunger as I seek to know you better. The natural bread may satisfy for a little while, but You Lord, satisfy perpetually. I praise you Jesus with every breath....Amen
