6/4/20 - WHO ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous be not terrified; do not be discouraged for the LORD your GOD will be with you where ever you go. Joshua 1:9

Those encouraging words were spoken to Joshua after the death of his mentor and friend Moses. He was now tasked with bringing Israel into the promised land. Following in the footsteps of a great leader can be daunting; but when the Creator of the universe says “I AM with you; be not afraid!” If you had no courage, you do now.

What or who has been keeping you back from doing what God has put in your heart to do? The word of the Lord for you today Is. Go ahead! Write that book! Start the business! Apply for that dream job! Make amends! Forgive that person who have hurt you! Buy that second/ first home! Get your citizenship! Marry your friend with benefits! Get out of that toxic relationship! This one is a biggie; brace yourself. MAKE THE DECISION TO LIVE FOR JESUS CHRIST! ( I can hear the groans) listen to me! Whoever told you living for Jesus is boring; never met Him. Life in Jesus is never dull, He promises you the ride of your life and delivers! Just be of good courage and do what He’s commanded you to do! The first step is the hardest, but have you noticed that the other foot automatically follows the first step? Haha

Doing the right thing or making difficult decisions is never easy. But you feel so much better when you obey the voice of God. Moses was supposed to do what Joshua had been commanded to do, but disobedience kept him from completing his destiny. Numbers 20:12. None of us are perfect, but Moses came pretty close as far as God was concerned. Read Numbers 12:8-10.. he was the only human to speak with God face to face. Yet he allowed the people he was leading to frustrate him so much, he disobeyed a simple task. “Speak to the rock!” How difficult was that? God allowed him to see what he’d be missing but never possess.

So remember the list? See you forgot already🤦‍♀️the dream list! Yeah that list. Don’t let God have to choose your replacement while you’re still alive. Don’t die with the dream(s) God has given you. Don’t ruin your life in a dead end relationship. If that boy ain’t proposed in 10 years; he probably won’t. If that girl isn’t ready to commit start weighing your options. Don’t let someone else write your book or start your business. Don’t die in your sin. Opportunity knocks but it doesn’t wait forever. For some of you, your destiny is tied to your decision to follow Christ. If He’s given you the dream, He alone holds the blueprint.

My friends, be of good courage! The One who commands also promised to be with you. He never fails to keep His Word. I’ve been living for Jesus for 50 years; serving Him faithfully for 47 years He’s never failed or disappointed me not one time. I used the word faithfully, because for some of those years I was a prodigal. But praise Jesus I knew my way back home!! And ABBA was waiting with open arms, robes, sandals, ring and the fattened calf. You’re reading these messages because of grace yes! God’s amazing Grace! Regrets; I’ve had a few. But serving Him isn’t one of them.

BE OF GOOD COURAGE!! God’s got your back. Just step out in faith to your destiny. Joshua made it with the multitude, and you will too. Your obedience is tied to someone else’s breakthrough. The plan of God is multidimensional. So step up and step out! I’m waiting, the whole world is waiting on you! Procrastination is the thief of time.

Father in the unchanging, unfailing Name of Jesus. I choose this day to walk into my God given destiny. I admit it’s scary, but You have given me Your Word that You’ll be with me wherever I go. Give me the courage you gave Joshua to take the fist step towards.........place the dream or decision in that space. In Jesus mighty Name. Amen..so be it.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
