9/14/21-WANT TO DO GREATER WORKS? GET FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST.

Uh…most Christians don’t have a clue about what I just said. The only praying they have ever heard or done has been with their understanding. But present in every believer is the ability to pray in the language of heaven. A language that only The Godhead understands. The Bible calls Him the Spirit of Truth. They haven’t been taught about Him so they’ve never received the gift freely given to them at their new birth. Jesus gave us the promise and kept it on the day of Pentecost. He has been available to all believers ever since. It’s not exclusive or elusive. All you need to do is give Him a voice. You don’t need to tarry or beg, because He’s in you and shall be with you forever.

The enemy has lied to believers that they can’t speak in other tongues. But if you listen to the Holy Spirit you’ll hear exactly what He wants you to say. You may tell yourself that can’t be it, but just begin to verbalize what you hear when you ask to be filled with the Holy Ghost. He’s already in you. Just let Him speak. Don’t try to figure it out or make sense of it. Get out of your head and into the Spirit. It’s His language not yours, so follow His leading.

THE PROMISE:

“If you love Me , show it by doing what I’ve told you. I will talk to the Father, and He will provide you Another Friend so that you will always have someone with you. This Friend is the Spirit of Truth. The godless world can’t take Him in because it doesn’t have eyes to see Him, doesn’t know what to look for. But you know Him already because He has been staying with you, and will even be in you!” John‬ ‭14:15-17‬ ‭MSG‬‬

THE MANIFESTATION:

“When the Feast of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Without warning there was a sound like a strong wind, gale force—no one could tell where it came from. It filled the whole building. Then, like a wildfire, the Holy Spirit spread through their ranks, and they started speaking in a number of different languages as the Spirit prompted them.”Acts‬ ‭2:1-4‬ ‭MSG‬‬

THE CONTINUATION:

“While they were praying, the place where they were meeting trembled and shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak God’s Word with fearless confidence.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:31‬ ‭MSG‬‬

This was not long after what happened on the day of Pentecost. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is an essential part of our spiritual development. We are powerless to do Kingdom work without Him. That’s why so many churches are so easily turned away from the principles and truths of God’s Word. That’s why so many Christians are afraid to share their faith. They’re timid and lacking power. Oh, they’re powerful in church but weak outside of church. If you’ll take the time to read through the book of Acts you’ll see the Holy Spirit at work. If pastors are not filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues, they’re operating on a lower level than that which was promised by Jesus Christ Himself. Holy Ghost power is a requirement necessary to carry out the mandate required to do greater works. Discernment, knowledge, wisdom and understanding, all flows through the Spirit.

This is why we have pastors giving opinions instead of the Divine Word. This is why there are no miracles taking place in houses of worship. This is why there’s no Word of knowledge. People come broken and burdened, get stirred up but leave with no deliverance. If the Holy Spirit is absent there’s no anointing. There’s a stark difference between sensing and experiencing. You may sense the presence of someone without actually having an encounter or experiencing them. So even though the Word preached was good to listen to, it lacked power and anointing to set people free. The power of the Holy Ghost not only saves you, He baptizes, heals and delivers at the same time. That’s what took place after Pentecost. This present generation of church goers and even some older Christians haven’t a clue about what the anointing produces for they have never witnessed it. They confuse flesh with anointing because there’s nothing to compare it with. When you have no comparison, what you know becomes your normal. Ezra 3

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is the next step in our walk with Jesus. Most preachers don’t teach it because they haven’t experienced Him or they don’t believe that it’s for today. That is a disservice to the body of Christ. He is our link to the Father and the Son. He’s the guarantor of our salvation. Ephesians 1:13-14; 2 Corinthians 1:22; 2 Corinthians 5:5 He is the promise, proving that God keeps His Word. When we don’t know how to pray at times, He takes over Romans 8:26. A Christian without the Holy Spirit is like a baby with undeveloped lungs. You haven’t learned how to breathe. He’s the breath of God at creation. He’s the Spirit of life. To prove that this experience didn’t end in the upper room, let’s look at someone who wasn’t present at that time.

“Now, it happened that while Apollos was away in Corinth, Paul made his way down through the mountains, came to Ephesus, and happened on some disciples there. The first thing he said was, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? Did you take God into your mind only, or did you also embrace Him with your heart? Did He get inside you?” “We’ve never even heard of that—a Holy Spirit? God within us?” “How were you baptized, then?” asked Paul. “In John’s baptism.” “That explains it,” said Paul. “John preached a baptism of radical life-change so that people would be ready to receive the One coming after him, who turned out to be Jesus. If you’ve been baptized in John’s baptism, you’re ready now for the real thing, for Jesus.” And they were. As soon as they heard of it, they were baptized in the Name of the Master Jesus. Paul put his hands on their heads and the Holy Spirit entered them. From that moment on, they were praising God in tongues and talking about God’s actions. Altogether there were about twelve people there that day.”Acts‬ ‭19:1-7‬ ‭MSG‬‬

This exchange is important because that’s where baptism ends for most Christians. Water baptism. But Paul taught them that there was still yet another baptism. Another level to our development in Christ. Every child of God needs to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Will you miss heaven if you don’t speak in tongues? Of course not. But you will never operate in the power you are intended to, and you’ll never experience the victories and breakthroughs you would with Him. Tongues is the only language the devil doesn’t and cannot decipher. When you’re facing situations where you can’t even pray in English or whatever language you speak, something happens when you begin praying in tongues. There is a strength and boldness that arises in you. It’s no longer you praying but your Helper takes over. You don’t know what you’re saying, and neither does the devil, but God does. Before you know it things begin to change in you. Spirit to spirit at a level not comprehended by the natural mind. A boldness steps up where you were fainting, you begin to see things differently from God’s perspective. That’s what happened to the apostles and the twelve people Paul encountered that day.

You’ll recall that the same thing happened when Peter went to Cornelius’s house. When they heard the Word and received the message, they were all baptized not just with water but the Holy Spirit. He is a necessary component to our boldness in Christ. We cannot advance to the level we need to be without Him. If we’re alright without Him, why did God after Jesus left, send Him to us with one notable evidence, tongues? That’s the only proof that we have been filled with Him. Satan controls languages. He uses them to accomplish his goals. God controls tongues Satan cannot decipher it so he can’t manipulate or control it. What he does use is prophecy. He uses lying prophets to try and discredit and deceive God’s people, but we who are filled with the Spirit of Truth through baptism in the Holy Spirit, can discern what is fake. Acts 16. It’s imperative in these last days that believers be filled with the Holy Spirit evidenced by the speaking in tongues. If you’re born again through receiving Jesus Christ as Lord, you should earnestly desire this gift. If your pastor doesn’t teach or believe in what I’m sharing, seek the Giver, read the scriptures beginning with the promise of Jesus and the book of Acts. Jesus promised and the Father delivered on the promise. He’s yours for the asking. Back to Cornelius.

“No sooner were these words out of Peter’s mouth than the Holy Spirit came on the listeners. The believing Jews who had come with Peter couldn’t believe it, couldn’t believe that the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on “outsider” non-Jews, but there it was—they heard them speaking in tongues, heard them praising God. Then Peter said, “Do I hear any objections to baptizing these friends with water? They’ve received the Holy Spirit exactly as we did.” Hearing no objections, he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay on for a few days.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:44-48‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Evidence is everything. Because it gives credibility to the message and the promise. If it wasn’t necessary then Peter and Paul could’ve just preached the message of salvation and left it at that. But God never lies. He promised and delivered. We just need to be open to receiving. The messages being preached today dont bring the hearers to that level of having the Holy Spirit manifest in the ways we have read about today. So we have congregations filled with helmet wearers, naked from the neck down. I remember when I got filled with the Holy Spirit, I’ve shared this before. I wasn’t in a church building, I was in my living room alone. But I’ll never forget the experience. It was as though I had released a prisoner, like He couldn’t wait to be free, I spoke in tongues for hours, I couldn’t answer my phone. I had to hesitate before saying hello because tongues would begin to flow. Once I was fellowshipping with Him at work, I almost answered in tongues. It’s a great way to enjoy your inner Friend, and confuse the devil.

My life as a believer has never been the same. I’m only able to do what I’m doing because of Him. The fearless boldness when it comes to teaching is all because of Him. He says and does things through me that blow my mind. Laying hands on people and seeing them supernaturally healed by the power of the Holy Spirit in the Name of Jesus. I’ve never had those experiences prior to being baptized in the Holy Ghost. What did the teachers of the law recognize in Peter and John? Read it in Acts 4. That needs to be seen in us as well.

“The council members were astonished as they witnessed the bold courage of Peter and John, especially when they discovered that they were just ordinary men who had never had religious training. Then they began to understand the effect Jesus had on them simply by spending time with him.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Some people use 1 Corinthians 14 as a reason to not encourage speaking in tongues. That to me is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Why would Jesus tell them to wait for the gift and not leave without it if it wasn’t important? Notice the words Jesus used to describe what they would receive.“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” They received power to do what cannot be done by any other means. Acts 1:8

They would be the conveyor of the gift to others as we’ve seen. I didn’t tarry or stress, I simply asked for what was promised. Paul was simply saying that we should not use the gift to create confusion in the church. Whenever tongues was being used prophetically, there needed to be interpretation. But for our own private conversation with God, our spirit is edified.

“For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.”1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We give Satan a migraine every time we speak in our heavenly language. Sometimes we’ll get a revelation of what we’re saying, other times it’s just a mystery but a beautiful fellowship develops that cannot be compared to speaking in our understanding. I find myself smiling whenever we’re communicating in this way, especially when it happens during worship. In situations where we don’t know what to pray, that’s our best intercession for He prays for us. Never despise what you don’t understand. Instead seek Him, search the scriptures and ask the Spirit of Truth to reveal and give clarity to what you don’t understand. Also seek out Spirit filled Christians and leaders who operate in the gift to help you. There’s no tarrying just believing. That tarrying was more about location than the actual Gift, as was evidenced by what happened with Cornelius and the disciples in Ephesus and myself. God will give the Gift of His Spirit to any believer who wants Him. It’s not spooky, it's life transforming, it's a promise made and kept for those who will receive Him. Does that make those who don’t speak in tongues lesser than those who do? No. But why would you not desire all that is available to you? Why would you settle for a sip when you can have a drink?

“The one who speaks in tongues advances his own spiritual progress,

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:4‬a ‭TPT‬‬

“And He has given us His Spirit within us so that we can have the assurance that He lives in us and that we live in Him.”1 John‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The Church will never speak the Word with one voice until we’re all filled with the same Spirit of Truth. He doesn’t have a contrary message.
